Vitamin B-12 injection course - academy course

About

Your body uses vitamin B12 to make red blood cells, nerves, DNA and protein. B12 also helps your body metabolise fat and carbohydrates for energy. Although your body is unable to generate B12, the vitamin is readily available from dietary sources including dairy, meat and fish. If you develop a vitamin B12 deficiency, intramuscular or subcutaneous injections may be necessary. The course covers B12 deficiency, pernicious anaemia, diagnosis, treatment and management. It also covers signs and symptoms of anaemia. We review inclusion and exclusion criteria and identification of appropriate patients.
